Why Wanda Requests Permissions

Wanda may display several generic system permission requests. While some of them might appear broad or unrelated, each is essential to ensure the app functions as intended. Unfortunately, these permission messages cannot be customized, so we’d like to explain exactly why they’re needed:

Location & Nearby Devices
These two permissions are required to allow Wanda to connect with your Bluetooth devices and receive readings from them. Your device asks for these because information from some types of Bluetooth devices could be used to determine your location and create a profile of you, even though the Wanda App does not actually do this.

Push Notification Request
This is required to allow Wanda to send you notifications about incoming calls or messages.

Camera & Video Access
This single permission is used for both video calls and health surveys with photo questions, that ask you to take photos. Because it is a combined system request, you may see it even if you're only using one of these features.

Microphone Access
This will only be requested to have a video call.

Stop optimizing battery usage
We only ask Android phone users for this permission. It is required to allow Wanda to send you notifications about calls and messages when you're not actively using the app.

Access to Health/Health Connect
This will only be requested if you choose to track your steps. Wanda does not collect step count data directly—it relies on your device’s built-in health service (like Apple Health or Google Health Connect) to retrieve this information securely.

We’re committed to using permissions responsibly and only request what’s necessary to provide you with the best experience.
