How does iPulseOx Pulse Oximeter work for RPM?

Monitoring pulse oximetry is a key requirement for clinicians and practitioners supporting patients with various conditions and chronic diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, and pneumonia.

Our RPM iPulseOx is designed with an intuitive interface, displaying results on a visible screen allowing a patient to understand their readings while sending these directly to their practitioner or physician to log, compare and trace.

This device quickly calculates blood oxygen levels and can alert medical professionals when changes require immediate intervention or identify when changes to the patient's pulmonary function indicate a positive response to medication and other treatment plans or worsening symptoms of an underlying condition.

The iPulseOx requires a clean finger placement against the sensor, taking accurate and prompt measurements and recording heart rate and SpO2 metrics within a few seconds.

Applications for Remote Oxygen Saturation Monitors in RPM

Our pulse oximeter is a straightforward, unintrusive, and painless way to monitor the oxygen saturation levels present in a patient's blood flow. It is designed for use on a fingertip but can alternatively be used against an earlobe where more comfortable or practical.

Keeping careful watch of a patient's blood oxygen allows clinicians to determine whether lung conditions are improving or worsening, taking proactive steps to prevent further damage to the lungs and reducing deterioration.

The iPulseOx is dispatched to a broad range of patient groups and for applications including:

  • Tracking measurements of patients with conditions linked to pulmonary or respiratory function, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

  • Monitoring and managing symptoms of asthma and long-term side effects of pneumonia and infections such as COVID-19.

  • Those requiring regular lung function assessments to help with the treatment of anemia, lung cancer, heart failure, cardiac arrest, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

  • Individuals following treatment or medication protocols with a risk of reduced respiratory function or decreased lung function.

  • Post-surgery patients requiring tracking to ensure impacts of anesthesia are recorded and monitored, allowing for fast interventions where necessary.

The iPulseOx is also used in other fields of medicine, such as in sleep studies, where physicians need to understand how individuals with sleep apnea and similar disorders experience variations in lung function during the night.
